Surgery Aftermath! Stitches!?
Hey.
I just get surgery yesterday on my foot. I got 6 stitches, and they hurt whenever I put pressure on my foot, or shipment for that matter. I am kinda worried though, the nurse give me a shoe, so that whenever I step on the floor, I use it. But I'm concerned that the nurse said I didn't need crutches, but everytime I use the shoe, it Hurts resembling crazy. I will be going back to conservatory on Monday,... Is it wise to ask the doctor for crutches, or purely stick it out in the shoe & stitches?
And, do you own any tips for me on how to take protection of them, bare surrounded by mind that hey are all covered beside a dressing.
--Thanks lots.
Answer: since you just have your surgery i would wait for rather bit today. if the pain continues to be excruciating tomorrow then i would ask for the crutches lately incase.
It's normal. And the aching will subside as the swelling goes down. I wouldn't run with crutches. Keep those stitches verbs. Change your dressing often and contained by a sterile environment. Not keeping them clean risks developing a staph infection, and that is to say a nasty business.
It's going to be sore for a couple of days. I would try to avoid putting any bulk on it. Let it heal up some. You don't want to gash your sutures loose.
