My Husband Cant Poop?
It has be about 4 or 5 days since his final bowel movement, he is a pretty regular guy going at least once every light of day.
We have tried stool softeners, mineral grease and enemas. We even tried Red Lobster..which usually causes him to own a bowel movement within 20 minutes of completing his collation, but not this time.
I'm not sure if he is constipated or impacted. I tried to look both of them up and they sound so similar, the with the sole purpose difference being he hasnt have the soft stool that usually accompanies impactation thus far.
He is also running somewhat bit of a fever, nought over 101.7 so far thank goodness.
I'm not sure if we should try to treat it next to a stronger laxitive or just progress straight to the ER at this point.
Anyone had a similar situation ensue?
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Answer: It is usually normal to own a low grade hallucination with an impaction. I would try a dose of 1 tablespoon castor grease mixed with 1 tablespoon Milk of Magnesia. I enjoy worked in the medical area for 35 years and have see more than my share of impactions and your man is impacted. Give this a try along with something hot to drink in a jiffy after the medication. This might take a few hours or overnight but it usually works.
Good Luck.
you necessitate to see a Doc
Don't go straight to the ER, progress to his doctor first. It sounds pretty serious, but hopefully not ER serious.
He may have what doctors would bid a "sideways turd". Try clearing it with a straightened coat hanger, and present us an update on the results.
Also, be sure to stand back, and wear a pious pair of sanctuary glasses.
Chuck Norris can see it out of him. he will scare the crap outta him.
Call your domestic doctor and ask what to do.
I would defiantly turn to the doctor. I sounds like you hold tried everything and if he is impacted and running a fever it could be death-defying. When toxins are not expelled from your body they could leak into the rest of your body cause toxic shock syndrome. Not to worry you, but to be surely sure go to the doctor. The restlessness says it's doctor time.
definately walk to a doctor
well greatly of people jump to the ER for this problem. here's what we (nurses) usually have to do. we contribute the patient a continuous enema of melt water and obscurity karo syrup. and keep the forgiving npo (nothing by mouth). i've had problems next to my bowels for years. found the best thing for myself is correctol (or generic woman's laxative). they flop when they say "gentle" nouns. lots of cramping. but taking 3 of them works for me after about 5 days no poop. hope you don't hold to go to the hospital. apposite luck. keep a study on the fever too.
