AC separation?
A friend of mine just have an AC separation injury. I was a short time ago wondering what exactly an AC separation is. It's her right arm so I'm guessing it has something to do beside the shoulder? Any information is helpful.
Answer: AC is acromio-clavicular shared. The acromion is part of the scapula (shoulder blade) and the clavicle is the collar bone. The collective is where these 2 come together. An injury could make happen the joint to separate. Yes it's within the shoulder.
I'm a little disappointed that the RN below me didn't know what an AC separation be...
AC usually stands for anterior cruciate ligament, that is surrounded by the knee. Are you sure it wasn't a RC separation? RC stands for rotator cuff, and it wouldn't separate but will slash. Her doctor may be using different medical shorthand, but that is what I be taught adjectives thru nursing school.

Ah, I looked it up for you, the above site explains adjectives. Thanks for this question, I bookish something too.
