Refusal of Medical Care contained by the United States?

If an individual refuses medical effort, does competency or lack of information come into play?

Mainly I'm trying to find any law in regard to refusal of medical care surrounded by the United States. A .gov link that could head me to a more informed answer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Answer:    The only population not allowed to eliminate care are those that are mentally ailing. A doctor can deem them unable to engineer those decisions and a authority will appoint someone else to make medical decision for them. Otherwise, if you are an adult, you may snub care. Even teenagers contained by some cases have be allowed to refuse further treatment for diseases close to cancer, when their parents want the treatment to continue. It depends on the situation and the regard as being you get.
