Answer: depends on your surgery your doctor should have have the nurse write out your instructions upon discharge. your question is too bewildered it depends on what part of the body your surgery took place on. my husband purely had surgery to repair a ligament in his not here ankle to mid calf on weds and hes hurting , hes in a sort has to elevate it check heat 3 times a day pinch his meds keep rime on the outside of the cast (he have this big blue wedge) they gave him to maintain it up on. he has to be in motion monday for an ultrasound to make sure he doesnt enjoy a blood clot from the surgery and he said the cast is already starting to itch .well brought-up thing it isnt summer
