Is it true that you shorten your lifespan if you work dark shifts and sleep during the morning?

I know that sunlight stimulates your brain to produce serotonin... and that lack of sunshine cause it to produce melatonin instead and that can make you tired and sluggish. Or something approaching that.

But does it actually shorten your vivacity? Two years ago I was told I be suffering from SAD but I don't really believe that. I just disgust daylight and will do anything to avoid it.

In an ideal world, I'd sleep adjectives day and work through the dark, but that could be quite uncertain. I'm just wondering how this could affect me or anyone else contained by the same position.

Thank you.

I read something contained by New Scientist that a survey showed that people who worked night-shifts died closer on average than people who work light of day shifts. However, the results were inconclusive as to whether the reduced duration expectancy was truly caused by the night-shifts, other factor such as eating conduct, or if was only coincidence. uh, i don.t think so, i.ve worked nite shift for masses years w/people who aren.t particularly young-looking..if so, then im on track to an rash grave!

No, I've done my fare share of back-shifts and night-shifts. For something like a year, the only sunlight I get was shining through the window at work. As long as you still get satisfactory sleep, you'll be fine.
