Health insurance for a student beside Multiple Sclerosis?
Does anyone have any information on finding robustness insurance for a currently uninsured college student with Multiple Sclerosis? A friend of mine have been lacking medication for six months after losing his insurance and since it costs roughly $1500 a month it is impossible to earn that money on the side while attending college. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Answer: I strongly suggest that your friend contact the National Organization for Rare Disorders if he take Copaxone. I have MS and they supplied my drug psychiatric therapy for a number of years any free of charge or at the nominal fee of $50.00 to cover shipping and handling. Your friend should contact the National MS Society if he is on a drug psychiatric help other than Copaxone to find out what agencies hold available funds. They have other provided me with contacts to secure my MS drugs at no cost or low cost. Most of my friends who have MS find assistance from the National Organization for Rare Disorders to assist in paying for their Copaxone. NORD will assist ANY individual near or without robustness insurance. It is imperative to apply early surrounded by the year before the funds dry up. You are treatment to email me if you wish.
I don't know what the situation is, but usually school offer student insurance at clad prices. Because he has be without insurance for six months, the foreign insurance probably won't cover a "pre-existing condition" for the first three months, but after that, it should be covered. Look into this -- if it's a university, ask around there. There might also be suggestion on a national MS organization Web page (?).
Individual insurance will not be an way out, as individual insurance carriers will not provide policies for folks with such a pre-existing condition. If they do, the policy price will be outrageously expensive.

I'm assuming the med you referred to is one of the CRAB-T's, and they won't be found on Wally's $4 program, but possibly if he's on other meds one of those might...

Contact the National MS Soceity in your nouns. They are there to oblige. You can also get the label of the medication he was taking look it up on the network and call them. Example: if he took Copaxone you would appointment Shared Solutions.
