Try Physical Therapy.. They're really good citizens.. I had a torn meniscus...which is similar to your problem.. and I have surgery for it...I would not recommend surgery... I have have problems with my knees ever since the surgery.. My knee still isn't usual.. I cannot sit on my knees... I don't know if the doctor did the procedure wrong or what...but i will not go through that again..
But it can alleviate with rest, rime, and Physical Therapy.. It usually takes more or less 2-3 months for it to completely heal..depending on how fruitless the tear is and where on earth it's located..
