My friend's daughter have a sprained wrist.What should she do to relieve the twinge?
My friend accidently pulled on her daughter's hand too unyielding and heard a snap along next to a cry of pain.She doesn't know what to do.Her daughter is just 22mths old.Please Give Full Details/Instructions On What She Should Do.

Ok first she should use the RICE method... R= rest I= rime C= compression and E= elevation. To compress it she should put an ace wrap on it or buy a wrist brace. Ice it every few hours for 20 minute increments. When icing elevate it. She should give her daughter children's Tylenol or children's Motrin, depending on what the sticky label says... if she is to babyish then take a prescription for the doctor. This should help beside any pain or swelling. If you chew over it may be broken then you should transport her to the ER immediately for an x-ray.
