Neurologist pls back ! my mother is other surrounded by headache & MRI result is this:?
"Posterior annular tear, not here subarticular, L4-L5 with small herniation of disc bits and pieces. No intrinsic intradural abnormalities. No demonstrable compression fractures or spondylolisthesis"
What do the results show? Can anybody explain..thank you
Answer: Small disk rupture at the rear of the disk. Usually a mete out of sciatica.
Bulging disk at L4-L5 level. So the soft tissue surrounded by between the disk is slightly being squashed cause intense pain.
No fractures or out of the ordinary bone growth.
In short, your mum has a bulging disk and sciatica.
BUT I AM NOT HER DOCTOR!!
That's hurts as I suffer equal thing. Sounds close to my report, except I have bone spurs and extra growths on my vertabra due to breaking the vertabra 18 years ago. I get hit in the pay for, by accident, by a pick axe!
Pain, you do not state what type of stomach-ache? Is it radiating? Does she feel it contained by one leg, two legs? Explanation, between the Vertebra; spine bones, we have a nice shock absorber, disc. The disc have a tough outer shell, with a nice soft jelly inside and this is what give us the shock absorbing ability to fly, jog, play basketball. Your Mother have torn the hard outer shell and this is allowing the nice soft jelly to bulge out, hence annular break. Thankfully the soft jelly is not entering the spinal canal or interfering next to the spinal cord, which at this level looks resembling a horses tail. You need to return to the Doc who should put your Mother on anti-inflammatory drugs and a stomach-ache killer. They might also distribute her to PT. Now as long as your Mother does not experience any weakness or loss of sensation within the legs, all will be all right, as the disc will 'shrink' part of the run of the mill aging process. Best of Luck
