What can I do give or take a few my a previously broken bone hurting again?

About a year and a half ago I broke, sprained and tore ligaments contained by my right ankle. Recently it's become quite prickly again. It feels similar to it is broken again, because whenever I touch the outside of my ankle it causes like mad of pain. Occasionally at night it will be painful to step, but it always hurts to touch it. Is this average, and what can I do to help make less burdensome this pain, besides OTC throbbing medications?

Answer:    There could be some arthritis or the scarring. Ibuprofen (Motrin) or naproxyn (Aleve) are better than acetaminophen (Tylenol), since they are also anti-inflammatory. Heat/Cold or topical rubs may relief.
You obviously have a serious injury - lots of damage to lots of tissues. This prejudice can change the bio-mechanics of your foot and ankle - which will create chronic affliction. You may want to get a complete evaluation by your family circle Chiropractor and a good Podiatrist. Correcting the remarkable bio-mechanics may solve your problem.

Best wishes and good luck.
