Broken Ankle?

My 5 year old daughter, Ava (ironically just a few days after her little tooth incident) has fall off a her bike since school. My husband and I are negociating if we should rob her to the hospital because we gave her a perfect 2 hours to rest before considering. My husband requirements to take her, but I would resembling a few answers first. The second she fell, she says that she feel a throbbing pain surrounded by her ankle. It's tender and swollen and very bruised. It is twisted slightly inconsistent. She can't put weight on it, so she cannot amble. She says that she hear a snap, but that could be anything. Do you think her ankle is a simple sprain or a break? Please give a hand me, my daughter is in unendurable pain.

Answer:    You obligation to go. It sounds broken to me, and if it's inconsistent, it needs to be set. Bruising, swelling, throbbing, and visible irregularity are the biggest signs of a broken bone, so you need to nick her.
take that kid to the hospital
How is it even a quiz? She's your daughter, she can't put any weight on it, it looks unnatural, and she heard a snap. She have to go see a doc and return with an X-ray. If you leave a broken or dislocated ankle alone, defect tissue can build up and that foot/ankle could be deformed for life.

At least possible you'll have an answer if it's broken. And if it is sprained, she may own really torn/ruptured those ligaments. She'll need crutches and enjoy it wrapped or given a brace.
I am an orthopedic nurse, broken bones is my job. You obligation to go to the emergency room and get hold of an Xray ... If it is not broken (which I think it expected is) than it is dislocated.

Either one of these requires attention by a doctor. The snap could mean a third point sprain but if it twisted out of place than it is dislocated or broken ... self unable to freight bear is an high-status sign/symptom of broken bone.

Anytime your child is in unendurable pain you should travel to the ER to rule out anything really serious.

C

hope this advice help.
Take her to the ER now! Your her Mother and she depends on you for vigilance and comfort. She can't tend for herself. Only a x-ray can tell for sure if it's broken. I'm a EMT and I'm advizing you to aim medicial attention for your child. Bottom line..better locked than sorry. Why let her suffer contained by pain.
If the ankle is "out of place" it could be a fractured.
Ligaments so can "snap" when they cleave.
It would be to have it x-rayed or at smallest examined. You can take her to a clinic that also have x-ray equipment. This way you avoid a long dally at the ER.

If it is broken they can refer you to have it set by a orthopaedic specialist.

Good luck,

resourcefully i have a friend who have broken her ankle or leg and she had also hear a snap and it was muffled in her neighborhod she found out she coulndt step. i think you should consent to your datugher go to the hospital.
I be gonna suggest going to the Emergency room to have them rob xrays instead of trying to guess. You never know with children. Better to be locked than sorry. Update us on what happens. I hope she feel better soon.
I am so sorry that is fractured her ankle. But please follow up near a podiatrist in stead of an orthodpedic or primary doctor. A podiatrist is a foot doctor and can oblige her better than the others. I say this becasue I used to work for a group of podiatrists.

I hope she feel better! Give her hugs and kisses!
