Torn Meniscus?

I just have 1/4 of my meniscus (outer left side of my gone knee) removed. Can I expect full recovery, or should I hamper exercise and quit fencing? (I'm 18 years old)

Answer:    You should have complete seizure. After arthroscopy of my right knee (inside), that knees is better than my left one. It will pocket time though, it was more or less 8 months before I could sit cross legged. Of course, I am other older than you, so you should restore to health more quickly. Don't try to do too much, too soon, it will singular send you backwards on your remedial. And if I may say, "OW!" I have my surgery Dec 06.

The important item is to work with your doctor and physical shrink to determine when you are ready for strenuous amusement.
1/4 removed? or trimmed up?..you may have some problems down the road..ie the knees joint is not competent to distribute the load evenly..resembling when your 30-40 yrs old etc..
