Colonoscopy - how to dampen nausea during prep and terrified of IV?
I'm scheduled for my second colonoscopy within a couple of weeks. When I had my first, I almost threw up the morning of the interview when I took the second dose of phosphosoda. Any advice roughly how to reduce the probability of puking? Also, I'm frightened of needles, particularly those that introduce IVs into my horrible vein. What should I do? Thanks.
Answer: Ask the nurse to use the smallest needle on you and lately look away. The worst part is the anticipation. We hold kids that scream and cry and we have to hold them down, after they dont even realize when we put the needle within. Just think or something else or try to bargain to someone when they are putting it in. Also they may own some numbing spray they can put on before they insert IV
ok okay my friend has chrones (sp?) and up to that time her colonoscopies, all she eat are lemon italian ices...LOL...try it, see if it helps
