I suffered a traumatic brain injury after being reverse ended by a sloppy driver. I was comatose for about one hour. When I come to I was surrounded by a county hospital my mother had to sign for me.
At first I be real inactive, in shock I suppose. My mother took me to the misfortune site and she took photos and took me home.
I kept asking what time is it, what day is it. Over and over not remembering I have just asked. I have severe loud ringing in my ears for about a month or two. I lost my short residence memory for about 4 years. I have to write down directions to where I be going or I would revert back 10 years and shift where I use to live.
Finally in recent times "last year" I can remember phone numbers, address, zip codes adjectives in my boss, once again.
It has taken 9 years for me to capture to this point.
Hopefully your brain will rewire itself faster than mine did.
