These are all devout tips. I agree with getting Prilosec or Prevacid over the counter. Often those are prescribed by docs. Know, though, that they can cart a couple days to work b/c they function differently than an antacid. I would take Tums or Maalox contained by the meantime.
Drink lots of cool water. It is obedient for your tummy. But not toooo cold, that can send your system into spasms.
Ginger or black licorice, strangely adequate, work well to soothe heartburn. Also, chamomile tea.
Avoid dairy, citrus products, and rich foods, including red meat.

we have this problem with my girl and in a minute she is ok.1- put something under the bed legs underneath ur head (about 15 cm). this is the best piece u do.
2- don't eat for two hours at lowest possible before u be in motion to bed .(more than 2hours is better).
3- try to avoid milk and chease and acids specially in the evening.
4- the best is to be in motion for a walk after u whip ur last feast.

Unless you have a really doomed to failure case of sour reflux disease, you could probably treat it yourself. I did and I haves not had it for 6 years (I own to knock on wood now)..the main point is EATING acidic things after 6.. and that includes strawberries. I have a BAD case of it and during the dark I would wake up choking as I could not return with my breath.. so it could be dangerous. You did not influence how old you be but to say that as one get older, this caustic thing become more of a problem.
