i have notice in the later several months that i see a halo when looking at lights at dark. i have have my eyes checked 10 months ago and didnt have any problems except the run of the mill one.

I notice this same curious effect, myself, some years back. It turned out to be that I be developing cataracts.Before you hysterics, cataracts can be cause by things *other* than old age! If you hold had any trauma to the eyeball, even years ago, that alone could do it.
Of course, it could be any number of things, and, to be on the safe and sound side, I'd go posterior to the ophthalmologist (not an optometrist) for another peek & poke.
