Don't worry,I own the crutches adjusted correctly,just about two inches below my armpits,and my arms are bent at around a 40 degree angle,it's merely my hands that hurt from putting adjectives the weight on them.

Oh I hold been on crutches since December and I hold the same point. My hands are callused on the palms. I started using those gel pad gloves for biking. They look kinda stupid, but definitely give support to.
