Has any one here have ankle replacement surgery or ankle fusion?
I have osteoarthritis contained by my right ankle due to an accident 12 years ago. My doctor say it is end stage arthritis. I hold bone on bone contact and even walking or standing causes extremely bad pain. At this point the insurance company and my doctor are war over what to pay him. This is their closing ditch effort to carry out of paying for surgery. At any rate I would like to know almost outcome that others have have after each of these surgeries.

I had an ankle replacement done a short time ago last August. So far so suitable. I have NO backache and am doing pretty much what I want to. I am 64 yrs old and walking the closing 3-4 yrs has be very tough. I live within Canada and the system here would not provide the surgery for 2-3 yrs. I went to Switzerland to hold it done because I was told that the simply devise approved by the FDA is inferior to those available elsewhere in the world.
