Leg injury - internal bleeding?
My leg, from an inch above my ankle to four inches below my knees, was murky purple. The pain is a constant 8 out of 10. I restore to health fast but this wasn't going away, essentially new purple bruising is popping up over the old pale bruises. I've been keeping it elevated and iced.
X-rays showed nearby was no fracture and an ultra-sound showed my most important artery was free of blood clots, but this is what worries me.
Today, two weeks after the twist of fate, more new purple bruises appeared on my leg. Also, whenever I totter on the leg, purple bruising appears around my ankles. The pain is still unpromising.
Doesn't that mean there's internal bleeding? Still? The doctors influence it's only a bruise but the swelling & red/purple color is alarming. Shouldn't more be done for my leg injury?
Answers: Wow, that must have be some awful fall! Sounds close to a deep tissue bruise.
But you are right, a bruise is bleeding beneath the skin. Try wrapping it snugly near an ace bandage (but not too tight.you still requirement to be able to get the impression your pedal pulse). Compression will help stop doesn`t matter what is still bleeding in there, and will probably put together it feel better, too. If it hurts to wrap it, after you probably sustained a hairline fracture that the X-ray did not pick up.
Also, do NOT take aspirin or Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin)..they are blood thinners and will produce you to bleed more. Take Tylenol or whatever the ER doc prescribed you for throbbing.
Keep ice on it (on for 20 minutes, rotten for 20 minutes, etc..) and keep it elevated to drain edema (swelling).
I'm sure it hurts tremendously. Bless your heart. Call your doc if you are still worried or if you are still hurting badly contained by 3 days or so. Good luck, and take angelic care of yourself.

Sorry don't parsimonious to be a jerk, but you want to rest it.
Is it an internal injury? Yes, but probably not what you think. You are injuring an injury and that's why it's taking long to treat.
If there is no blood clots than you should be okay.
I win these every year or so from my sport. And yes it hurts like hell, and it take really long to heal.
You merely seriously need to thieve a break so you don't get worst.
