So I work (full-time status) at a Catholic Church as music director. I also work a summer gig as a ship boat captain (3 months). Is in that any type of 401K I could get? Neither place seem to offer a company game, but do other types exisit?

A 401 or 403 plan is company sponsored. If they haven't told you of your eligibility, later you can't participate. Contact HR and ask. I would guess your ship boat job is probably a temp settlement and temps are not offered 401k type plans. Your best bet is to look into an IRA (traditional or Roth).
