I had this occur a couple months ago and it was a pulled muscle (pectoral). I have to get motrin from the doctor so it be more strength than over the counter. Although if I had be taking more over the counter it would have help before I get the prescription for motrin. I guess it is okay to take more motrin than the directions call for for as long as its not for a long period of time. Like I guess 4 at a time is not destructive as long as you space it out. I still would check with a doctor earlier doing that especially if you are on another kind of medication. It took a couple of week for the discomfort to heal and I have to baby that muscle for reasonably a while or it would start hurting again.
