Attention oboe players/nurses! looking for answers to arm problems?
Answers: I'm an oboe player, and the same happen to me!
This is caused by the position your arm is held surrounded by - upright is not a mundane position for your arms. Therefore, less blood is human being pumped to the arm than normal.
This is a sign of stunted circulation, something which my GP has told me nearby is little to be done about at the moment. If it get very serious, consequently you will need to contact your doctor, however as it sounds at the moment, it's not dodgy.
Remedies wise, the lone thing you can do is avoid playing for long period of time, and in rests, put your arm down and maintain your fingers moving.
I hope this helps, and in recent times get contained by touch if you have any more oboe or reed problems!
Good luck,
Andy :-)
hey iam also an oboe player and i experience alike problem, i know this occurs because you are straining your arm, and wrist while you switch through those difficult lower fingerings, resembling d flat to e flat for example, any ways what ive learned to do is reposition my arm and wrist and every once and a while do a pious stretch to keep from cramping.
