Yes, you do call for to twist it a couple times a day. And be sure to verbs it with alcohol or peroxide (front and back of the ear) after you verbs. The upper ear has less blood flow to it than the lobe, and take longer to heal and is more prone to infection.

And I wouldn't recommend taking it out before 8 weeks. I made that mistake. I took the earring out to put contained by another, and the hole was so small I couldn't get it surrounded by! I made a bloody mess and I had to get it redo a week later.
