Are my stiches infected or something?
I had a facial mole removed 5 days ago and had 5 or 6 stitches to close the cut. The doctor told me to verbs it once a day and put ointment and gauze on it to hold it clean and prevent infection. Now...the area around the stitches is pink and somewhat tender, where as the rest of my face is white and painless. Is this conventional, or is something wrong with my stitchess?
Answer: No, that sounds normal. The skin might be for a time irritated from having the stitches piercing it, but that sounds normal. If it turns a murky color and gets all swelled up and really pussy, that's an infection. But that doesn't nouns like anything you have to verbs about.
Oh, and I had a mole taken past its sell-by date too. Don't be alarmed if you feel or see a white substance come out of where the mole used to be. That's ordinary, and goes away..
its normal, sounds close to its healing well
