Hospital treatment for femur fractures...pls answer if you are in the medical field ;)?

I'm an EMT student and lately recently I started working in the emergency room for the clinical slice of the course....we need 25 long-suffering contacts and with respectively patient, we obligation to fill out a weekly on what the condition/treatment was.
So, we have a 93 yr old womanly come in next to a femur fracture (broke right in half), no traction splint be applied, and she wasn't c/o any pain. They took her upstairs to come clean and I missed the rest!!!! What is going to be the treatment for this lady? Please relieve...
Answer:

Joint pain?

They would most probably return with her ready for surgery-Open Reduction-Internal Fixation(ORIF) if her common body condition permits. If she be walking before the fracture afterwards she has to be made to stroll again, hence the surgery. If there are contraindications to surgery, later there is no choice but to trademark her comfortable in skeletal traction for around 6-8 weeks then probably draw from her on wheelchair, just to win her out of bed. f she gets confined to her bed, expect a nippy deterioration in her strength at 93.

What is your favorite use for Hydrogen Peroxide?

An open lessening most likely.

My leg become tired and hurt a bit at the cease of the day. Not HURT but its not comfortable. Why?

Most of the time femur fxs require surgery and the placement of pins and traction, as economically as a lengthy hospital stay. I hope this have helped you. WOW, c/o No discomfort; that's amazing! Did EMS bring her in? Why no traction splint; do you know? Are you sure it was the femur, or be it a hip. Email me and let me know. Good luck next to clinicals!
