Should a person be capable of sue his doctor for getting them hooked on opiates?
As more and more people become unwittingly hooked for energy on opiates, do you think more and more lawsuits will be file against these legal drug dealer? Most people don't fully endorse the extent of the problem until for some reason they are no longer prescribed this form of decriminalized heroin....their doctor retires, change within office policy stopping gratuitous prescrbing of drugs,etc... I know a woman in her fifties who until five years ago have never taken anything stronger than an aspirin in her entire life ( not including alcohol) until she be put on vicodin for a disc problem. Within a few months her body adjusted and she needed more...consequently the vicodin no longer killed the throbbing so the good outmoded doctor upped it to percocet. This repeated itself until a couple years later she be being prescribed 3 40 mg. oxycontin a morning. Long story short, she's almost 60 with a full blown addiction to opiates, near no script, she spends her enitre SS check buying stale the street! SUE 'EM, I say!!!

Absolutely NOT. There is a entity called free will, and only just because you don't have any command is no reason to build anyone else suffer. You make the choice to thieve the pills, knowing full well that narcotics are addictive. This is nearly as stupid as suing McDonald's for "making you fat."

you can ask the doctor for something to be exact not a narcotic, i do it all the time, I am contained by recovery and other ask my doctor for non narcotic meds. there hold only be a few occasions when i wasnt competent to get anything, but going in knowing they are dependence forming i am extremely careful how and how copious of them i take. freshly another case of our sue-happy society.

I would say she would own a case , but she should hold been stonger and taking the discomfort a little. The doctor I work for give everyone a piece of paper when they sign up as a merciful saying he does not perscribe opiates and If he have to he will not be responsible, and you have to sign it maxim you will not abuse the drugs. Or deal in them. Dr's in Maine are really pious about not perscribing them. But it doesn't thing most people simply order them stale the net.Does any one know how 2 draw from rid off nouns pain?

it will be intricate, but she needs to QUIT. Or find another doctor. If she is really anguished, due to her back, a hot doctor will be able to diagnose it and hopefully oblige her.I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS!!

There's other drugs to use for pain control. I own pinched nerves in my neck.I've have surgery for it. Still in distress I use methadone. Before you freak let me mention that methadone is not a euphoric. It is a really effective distress control drug. You mention 40mg. Oxy tid. In comparison I use a 5mg. tab of methadone tid.Another drug is Tramodol, again a non euphoric. Another for nerve distress is nuerontin. I use them all. I'm not strung out. I'm not buying second-hand goods off the street. Yes, this personality has a central problem BUT she has to appropriate responibility for her own behavior concerning this also. At this point she's looking for euphoria not pain control. Go to WebMD.com and check out bottle pain as resourcefully. The only article I fault the doctor on is not treating her next to the appropriate meds. i have be to countries like this. the solely people who carry the service are the people who enjoy the money and either own their own private plan which the average person cannot afford or the doctors themselves and family.

She should be capable of sue for coverage of any and all treatment she wants to overcome the Doctor assisted addiction she has... at smallest. Maybe then adjectives these over prescribing doctors will wake up and realize how ridiculous it is to prescribe adjectives these powerful narcotics to anyone who has anything except a terminal disease/condition. Most of these quacks are simply looking for the easy path out, treating the symptoms rather than the actual problem. It's no different than the over medication of children in our time, rather than WORKING beside these kids, they just pump them up next to amphetimines or sedatives, whichever the shield may by..and drug them into compliancy.... No! There are warnings adjectives over the bottles and most meds come with certainty sheets from the pharmacies. While it is very undesirable that this happens to some race, no one is really at knock. Some people enjoy addictive personalities. Should a doctor be help responsible for a person's personality traits? I don't reflect so. I have taken narcotic torment meds for 14 years and I have never be addicted. I do believe a doctor should monitor a patient's use of these medications, but ultimately have no control over the potential addiction. My doctors were other very particular to monitor my use, only giving me what I needed for a spot on time frame. When they saw that I did not abuse the meds, they be a little more non-judgmental with me. Ultimately, every soul is responsible for their own actions.
No.In today's society anyone who isn't aware of the DRUG PROBLEM in America doesn't live here. Part of self a patient is taking responsibility to do some research, ask question and request alternative treatment. Unfortunately physicians seem to be god-like to far too masses people and they scare questioning them.
In admiration to your excellent example of the woman buying street drugs...what would you have suggested to her contained by the beginning? Have her make clear to the doctor..."no, don't give me any niggle medication, I'll bite down on a leather strap when the pain get bad". When her doctor asked how her pain be she obviously told him it be bad and the meds weren't working. His with the sole purpose option be to control the pain beside an alternative medication unless surgery was an choice.
Patients have to work near their doctors in respect to their treatment, not just follow blindly.
