Can a hospital properly refuse service to a personality?
I have a friend who frequently go to the ER for pain shots. Recently the nurse hit her sciatic (sp?) chutzpah and she's had massive cramp in her leg. Now some of the nurses within the ER are saying they will no longer honor her doctor's prescriptions for these shots because of this incident. Can they do this? We're in a small community, so it's the single hospital here.
What recourse does she have??
Answer:
DEPENDING ON IF THE HOSPITAL IS PRIVATE OR LOCAL HOSPITAL
Cause of droopy eyelid- Bell's or particular aneurysm?
yes... if the nurses suspect drug addiction... tell her to find another doctor , a stomach-ache specialist preferably, especially if her pain is chronicWhy do you presume United States is 37th in healthcare, but is the richest country within the world?
If it's not a life threatening emergency the ER DOES NOT own to treat you.Why isn't the Dr. that's prescribing the shots giving them to her?
It sounds a little strange that she is have to go to the ER to recieve prescribed medication.
They can as long as they find someone else to perform the procedure. Since I don't know what state you're in, it's really tricky to say for sure.
They cannot stay away from service if she's not stable, has AIDS, or for religious reason.
She should contact the hospital's lawyer or own her lawyer contact them.
