Is My Big Toe Broken?
I stubbed my big toe five days ago. Its been swollen and slightly bruised ever since. It's be getting better, but still hurts. The first couple days it hurt deeply badly to even touch it. However, presently I can apply pressure to it with my finger, bend it (not completely), and can even bearing on it normally next to only slight headache. Could it be broken? It is ok to walk on it? Is it important to go to the doctors? Thanks!!..

I would go to your Doctor to carry an x-ray.
It sounds as if it may have a small, hairline fracture in it. They are even concrete to pick up on x-ray.
It's not a full break and will cause affliction, swelling and bruising but not to the point a major break would incentive.
You should avoid using your big toe when walking, which will be hard to do as it provides stability.
Go see your Doc ASAP.

It sounds approaching it is. However, all the doctor will probably do is cassette it together with a stick lower than the big toe and have you wear that for several weeks. You can do that on your own. If you want to play it protected though, head to the doctor and enjoy them x-ray it to make sure you didn't break anything farther up when you stubbed it. An xray is the only sure method to determine if you own a fracture. I would tape it to the subsequent toe. Apply ice to the foot and elevate the foot to shrink swelling. Unless the toe is grossly malformed, there will be no extra treatment needed. I am not a physician and make no claim to giving medical support. I did suffer a similar injury once. The only method to know for sure is to see a doctor and have an x-ray - but I can give an account you from my own fractured toe experience, that I was NOT competent to bend it after just a few days and it be excruciatingly painful to pressure. It swelled up similar to a big purple sausage, and I couldn't fit it into a shoe for a couple weeks. This was 10 years ago and I own arthritis in it very soon. There's not much a doc can do for it except try to limit movement beside a splint or something similar.
