I have be taking felodipine for my blood pressure.?
My Doctor has simply put me on ramipril as well as the blood pressure isnt coming down. How do these drugs work on my blood pressure?
Answer:
Ramipril belongs to a class o drugs called ACE inhibitors, as mark suggests it counter acts or cancel the action o ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme, produced in kidneys) and by doing so act on Kidneys to bring your blood pressure down, where as felodipine belongs to different class call calcium channel blockers which work by dilating(relaxing) your blood vessel and thereby reducing workload on your heart.
Some dilate the blood vessels and other works on the heart I think

I take ramipril,, my doc started me on a low dose which didnt do much he have then slowly increased the dose n it in a minute doing the trick it can take a while though for your doc to carry you on the right medication for you,,,, it as took my doc about 12 mth to seize the right one to suit me,, and finger crossed ramipril seem to be the one for me,,, appropriate luck in getting your blood pressure sorted x
