Code Blue is generally used for a long-suffering who has stopped breathing or have had a cardiac arrest and requests to be resuscitated. This code brings in a team of professionals to the long-suffering. They will then carry out resuscitative interventions on the patient.

In my hospital code green is a call for protection. It probably differs from hospital to hospital. Universally code blue is a cardiac arrest in progress. Typically a special "Code Team" arrives at the pts side when this code is call.
