What shows up on your health insurance bill?
If you be to get a procedure done that you didn't want your parents/husband/wife to find out in the order of, would it show up on their health insurance bill, if you hold a joint plan?
Answer:
Health plans usually submit an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to the enrollee upon mediation (payment or denial) of a claim submitted on their policy. There is no standard EOB format, so your plan might list "service rendered", or "surgery", or "appendectomy". Some might even include diagnosis codes and to the procedure.
You can call the plan and ask them what information they print on EOBs.
If you are asking whether these services will appear on the bill for the premium costs, probably not. Call the plan to be sure.
