Hospital Nutrician?
My mother recently and enormously reluctently went into hospital in Bristol. I worked in the NHS for 15 years and I'm not sure why I be so shocked considering, but why is it that basic necessities such as food is so disgusting at the moment. For example, one day as an alternative to the salad that she requested, she be given mashed potatoe which have acquired a skin, corned beef pie, broccoli, carrot and baked beans. This was followed by a yoghurt that be four days out of date! Needless to say aloud, the food was, as the majority of meal on the ward, returned and I presume thrown out. Such a waste and as nutrician is such an prominent part of retrieval, very worrying. The smell of hospitals have changed over the years from the "anti-sceptic clean aroma, to overcooked mixed veg.ugh!
Answer:
Did anyone ever go and get really sore wrist after wearing wrist splints for carpal tunnel?
When I had my children 5 and 6 years ago, I be appalled by the quality of the food, and also the serving sizes. Considering I be pregnant / breastfeeding and needed extra calories I barely get enough to suppress my hunger. I be also given no assistance when I asked staff to bring me some breakfast as I had be awake for 36 hours without food, after individual induced due to pre-eclampsia and my daughter had just stopped crying. When I went to return with some cold toast I was told I wasn't allowed to lug her in the room.
Since later I have trained as a Nurse and found the situation seem to have get worse. My trust frequently changed caterers due to complaints about poor ability. Staff were told it be a severe disciplinary offence to devour any of the food, leftover or not. Obviously this be to prevent patients from being denied food to nurture the staff. Although I can safely articulate I would not have drink any of the food even if it was provided for me.
I commonly came across patients whose lunch have been not here out of their sight or realize and were powerless of feeding themselves. When you feed a patient you be frequently called away for something "more important".
On the other train of the spectrum my childrens school dinners are a spacious improvement to what I recieved as a child. But I founder to see why the NHS can not manage duplicate standard. Yes children need nutritious food, but so do the sick, but for more. They should bring in someone like Jamie Oliver, although preferably smaller quantity annoying.
