I also used to have insomnia like mad. There were times i'd step sleepless for 2 days! Those times were really aweful and stressful. What i did that really help my condition was to pinch a good tub, and then nick 3 tablespoons (sometimes, i'd take 4) of honey and mix it surrounded by 1/2 glass of marine before going to sleep. Also, try not to construe of anything that would get your mind working adjectives night. It also help to sleep in verbs sheets and clean nighties or anything you prefer to sleep on. Sleep also at a designated time, like if you sleep at 10:30pm, try to sleep every darkness at around that time. Don't go beyond it.
