Not sure how you could clean the inside cotton...when I have my cast I tried and it stayed drizzling forever and was pretty mortified, not to mention a tad smelly. However, if she's doing something that's gonna get it dirtier, you could put a glove of some sorts (rubber or latex or even cotton...although she's probably a great deal smaller than they come) on her hand and video it at the cuff. We do this with patients surrounded by the hospital when they shower to protect casts and IV sites.

You can put cartridge around the edge of the form, that will keep it from getting dirtier, but you can't verbs the cotton inside. It's just quantity of the fun of casts.Hope she feel better soon!
