However, I won't be eligible for Medicare until March of 2009 (2 yrs after becoming officially disabled) Do I qualify for Medicaid? I own diabetes with severe neuropathy and no longer hold insurance. If your gross monthly income is smaller quantity than $749 (if you are single) it appears you will qualify for the MEDS-AD type of Medicaid.
If you need in-home trouble and your gross monthly income is less than $1869, you will want to look into some of the waiver programs (HCBS). There is an superfluous requirement that a medical professional assess your care requests (called level of care) and determine if you qualify.
It never hurts to apply -- it a moment ago takes a touch time. Then you find out first hand from a worker what might be the best program for you.

I just started acceptance my disability the end of final year, so I think I can possibly answer a few question for you. I live in Maine, but possibly things are simular. I would suggest you contact your local department of human services. I also found a lot of backing from a social worker from my state senator's office. Try those, and apt luck. Don't give up, in attendance are services out there for you. If I can be of more relief, please feel free to email me. vingill@yahoo.com.Naturally sweaty --hyperhydrosis tips?
The other respondants be correct. You have to contact your local Health and Human Services department. They will have the Florida income guidelines available. You should know how to speak w/ the same family that helped you receive your SSD. Medicare and SSD are Federal programs only. Medicaid and SSDI are surrounded by part Federal and surrounded by part State funding. Each state determines what they can count as income. For example, TEXAS where on earth I am, will not count the home in which you are living, but will count your cars, funds, additional property etc. Oklahoma will count the home within which you live. So you really have to cooperate to the Office in FL to apply. Most relatives get too much contained by SSD to qualify for Medicaid or SSDI, which is supplemental (needs based) income to your entitled disability check (your SSD).
