The desire to help.My dad be a surgeon my mum an RN. However, they thought I was not intelligent ample to become an RN.
I sort of never really fitted into other jobs i.e accounting and often get fired.
When I was little I go to visit a NUM (family friend) on her ward. I be fascinated by the nurses and what they did.
I started off at 20 as an AIN consequently EN then RN. I am presently 43 and still loving my job.
I could never see myself doing anything else and would probablly be especially sad when I hold to retire.
I think the desire to nurse is some sort of ease blast and for me it is addictive!! Perhaps the vocation is adjectives.

I'm a Medic...not an RN...but we've worked appendage -in-hand many years. Obviously, the "reasons" are as diverse as the ethnic group working, but I believe a common factor is certainly the desire to HELP. Not purely medically. I am referring to a trait common among Doc's, Nurses, Medics, Cops, etc..to relief when help is needed most. A bit of guidance...although money should not be the compelling reason to be an RN, I reckon young empire would be smart to look into Nursing. Work where and when you want for 40-50 an hour.not an exaggeration.

having that feeling of knowing you save a person's life beside your quick decision and dedication.nothing is more empower than to watch a forgiving walk stern through the door to thank you after spending several months on your unit (having their people told that they would not survive).
i've seen patient's on the brink of demise come back to thank me and my coworkers months, sometimes years then. they are so thankful for the protection they received even though most of them were too sick to remember anything.
