Here the rule of thumb when dealing with doctors - If they don't do what you want - switch until you find a doctor who will. Try to find a immature one just starting out who doesn't enjoy a closed mind or think he know everything

If your DESPERATE fr an xray, get a second belief. it might not be anything to do with your bones

I got my x-ray and scan but only by paying for them myself.
Turned out I have 2 fractures in my spine, plus other injuries.

Anyway satisfactory of me,
You can get an x-ray, by going along to the Emergency dept of the local hosp and recitation them you are in twinge.
Or go to a chiropractor, they can arrange for you to own an x-ray. They do charge, but it is an alternative.

Hope you get sorted soon
Good luck

Was an xray done when the injury occurred? Was the injury sustained from work? Have you gotten a second judgment? There is absolutely no judgment for a person to suffer from distress!
You need to see someone who is a specialist. Try and see if you can acquire copies of your xray (if one was done). This agency you can take it for a second view. What usually happens is, another xray will be done and will be compared to the older one to see if there have been any change.

Ive been haveing fickle shoots of pain throughout my body for as long as i remember.whts going on?

Are you feminine? If so the doc is probably concerned that you are of child bearing age that`s why doesn't want you to receive any radiation dose following what they call 'the ALARA principle' (As Low as Reasonably Achieveable)

I'm guessing it's more your lumbar spine (lower) than thoracic (upper) because it's underneath more stress and more prone to damage.

You didn't mention, however, whether it be trauma resulting from muscle strain or a bony injury/pathology. If the original trauma masses years ago was muscular later the doctor will be using this history to back up his belief of not wanting to refer you for an x-ray.

If you want to have an x-ray after go to your A&E department, put in the picture the doctor you have have a fall that morning and mention that it have been hurting previously up to that time the fall. They will definately x-ray you, because not doing it could expiration up with them person sued if they say no and you do own a fracture - they simply will not take that risk. They will write a request for x-ray and appendage it to a radiographer who will take your x-ray. Just try to do it when the department is soft, as you will be waiting around for a while. The hospital where I work can sometimes enjoy really bad waiting times for A&E patients.

My guess is that here was a bony trauma surrounded by the past and that you very soon have degenerative change as a result, possibly a compacted vertebral disc.

Good luck
