Can a human leg or foot be successfully sewn backby. if cut off. and awareness and motion restored ?
Answer:
Can i go surrounded by a pool if i have stitches?
It depends on several things: the stratum of amputation, the amount of local injury to the limb, the amount of circulatory compromise to the amputated part.
usually if an amputated foot or paw is sewn on within a couple of hours of the injury (as long as it's be promptly iced), and if there is not too much local crush injury to the deep limb or the amputated quantity, most normal gross function can return. However, fine motor touch and sensation may be artificial as nerves don't really regenerate, and new at a tangent neural connections must be made to compensate.
The general rule is, the more distal the amputation is on the member, the better the outcome. SO reattaching a finger is going to go better than reattaching a whole paw.

hmm... probably, with technology today...i would guess it depends on how long the leg have been..."cut off". But near would be a high risk for infection.
