Sprained ankle still swollen after a month?
I was camp on june 9th and i slipped in a stream and sprained my ankle. I didnt acquire back from camp until the 11th, but i kept off it, and "RICE"d it every arbitrary i got.
I go and got it x-rayed motivation it was REALLY swollen (my ankle be huge and the lower part of my shin be pretty swollen too), but the doc said it was merely severely sprained (he said it was a rank 3 sprain or something, the worst you can get).
I was on crutches for I don`t know a week or so, then i borrowed a friends "boot" for another week. Then the following week it didnt hurt to put my consignment on it and i could walk ok so i a moment ago kept it wrapped in an ace lint.
it looks like i enjoy 2 or 3 extra ankle joints contained by a row, and it's hard as bone. And my ankle doesnt stand out much at adjectives on either side (i hold pretty bony ankles).
I'm pretty worried, I love running cross country but i can't run cause it hurts. I'm gonna see my doctor again tomorrow, but idk what to expect.
Any back is appreciated!
Thanks!

Stay off it. I have a similiar sprain on my left ankle and thought it be okay after a couple weeks and stopped using my cane only just to make it worse. Keep bad it for a month... these kinds of sprains in reality take longer to make well than if you were to break a bone (that's what my doctor told me).
Keep the support and avoid running til you consistency it is 100%, anything less may jeopardize your season.
Good Luck!

Switching from hydro to Morphine and massively scared?
Definitly see a doctor again and win Xrays. I had a hairline fracture that they missed on the first X-ray and I have to have physical therepy for a couple of months or I could hold been crippled from the calcium buildup.Pains on the subsidise of my heel?
Make sure you get another x-ray, if your Dr. doesn't, decree one go to someone else. If that x-ray is cynical for a break, get an MRI. It will show more of what is going on in the soft tissue as okay.I started spraining impossible to tell apart ankle before I be 10 years old and continued to sprain it several times during my lifetime. When I be 57 years old, the sprain took longer to treat and about a year subsequently, I sprained my ankle and fractured the tibia in 2 places. My foot was on a strike for almost 2 months and I could not work. Since then I am extremely assiduous when I walk, since adjectives of the injuries have happen while simply walking with low shoes.
My direction ist to have your ankle examined and treated in half a shake. After you heal, look out all the time since my experience tell me that a weak ankle will verbs to sprain and finally end up breaking a bone. Also, start to pinch calcium. It's never too early to nurture your bones.
