my sister have a stoma and it is not residential care she recieves but nursing thinking...she has a stoma nurse who comes to check its still working ok...have a stoma does not need to be life span changing she still go out and has a totally active existence
its self perfectionism,,but the nurse will teach you proper supervision of your stoma..for example changing the pod every 1/2 full, how to clean stoma & protect the surrounding skin by applying protective ring & reporting to the physician if the stoma turns pale or blue (indicates lack of blood flow),,

If you are referring to an elderly person who may be incapable of looking after their own stoma, possibly because of set understanding or physical incapacity, and is possibly considering a Care Home, you should visit local Homes and discuss near the Officer in Charge. Some Residential Homes surrounded by our Town have staff who own nursing experience and would be happy to adopt a resident with this condition; if in attendance isn't such a Home in your nouns, you may have to look at Nursing Care.Why not ask at your local Social Services Office - they will be capable of advise on Residential Homes which would not see this as a problem.

I can be shown how to look after it yourself so that you can bring on with your vivacity.You need to catch in touch beside your doctor and speak with him/her he may bring back you to see a stoma nurse and she can show you how to look after the bag.
It is not as discouraging as it sounds you can hide the case and you can not see then lower than you cloths.
