Blood splatters.am i safe?
I am a CSW and my client had a plummet earlier in the day around 6p...and in attendance was blood left on the dryer little bit on the inside of the handle to open out it up..anyways..i thought it was all cleaned up..as i came contained by at 12am..and went to use the dryer at 1am..and i had previously cut my finger around 6p that day.so i have an open cut...was wondering if there be a possibility that his blood splaters came into contact with my cut...? Does that pose any risk for HIV for me? (Not sure if he has HIV...be never informed he has it)...or am i just over reacting surrounded by this situation?

Additional Details
I noticed the handle last dark and where i did actually touch there wasn't any blood..but in that was a few marks around it...so just thinking nearby might have been but i wiped it bad?
Answers:    You are most likely not at risk from HIV. The HIV virus starts dieing almost immediately after touching air. However you may be at risk of contraction HBV. Or more commonly certain as hepatitis. The hepatitis virus can live up to a week in dried blood. You may want to go get checked. Good Luck Source(s): I am a NSC CPR & 1st Aid instructor

When does it go and get easier..

The HIV virus does not live long outside the body I don`t know 30 minutes at the most anyway a one time contact is unlikely that you contacted the virus. Washing right away reduces the chance of infection also.
