You don't say what bone you broke and other details like if it be displaced which are important, but 1.5 years after the injury is too long to still have problems. What you're notice is almost assuredly joint swelling which probably is more likely from cartilage and muscle sources than a bone break. Your doctor may remove some of the fluid and see if there is blood or evidence of infection. If the joint is unstable an MRI I don`t know needed. Good luck.
