Can we trust private hospitals and do they support.

I live in the UK. I had cosmetic surgery at one of the most renowned private hospitals. This be in 2003 and I am still suffering from several problems as a result of this, nerve spoil, cellulitus etc... From the outset I knew that the hospital did not employ medical staff or surgeons. I know that they were simply landlords who rent their facilities. Nevertheless the hospital advertise their services and purports to provide numerous medical and surgical procedures and I expected their support when I had problems. There is no mention on their Websites that they are just landlords.

I am taking legalized action against the surgeon, however regardless of any monitory gain; I am told that there is not a cure for any of my problems. I am aware that I could be “sh***ing surrounded by my own nest” by this post, however I am concerned that there are people who are insensible that some private hospitals are simply landlords. People go to a private hospital and expect their support, in reality if a problem occurs, they pass the buck. They enjoy no control over their tenants i.e., surgeons or anyone else who rents their facilities.

I own deliberately omitted the name of the hospital involved. Although writing in the region of the truth should not be construed as libellous, I am being distrustful.

My question is, have any of you suffered, or be misled by the ambiguous advertising by private hospitals?. They do not just puff cosmetic surgery; they advertise EVERY type of surgery. I am willing to forgo any remuneration that I could find from litigation as I strongly feel that these private hospitals should not be allowed to publish ambiguous adverts. You can email me privately.

Answer:    The same surgeons operate both within the NHS and privately so the important thing is the choice of personnel. Private hospitals simply facilitate - the team you employ are the ones who will operate on you - they can be trusted on that score, and they do strictness, but cannot underwrite the performance of the surgeons in adjectives cases. I quite agree their advertising should explain what you are letting yourself surrounded by for.

The standard of nursing is usually superior and the other things like the food and so on bear completely little resemblence. You need to satisfy yourself that they enjoy a Crash team - you could find yourself off surrounded by an ambulance to the local NHS hospital in the event of an emergency, so you need to ask the right question before you start. The 'every type of surgery' is a moot point as they can be selective about their clients and don't usually steep up their wards with long occupancy nursing cases or ones with very little contained by the way of theatre fees..
yes you can,and yes they must/do watchfulness.
