Can you pinch misery killer when taking Anti-bio-tics such as Amoxicillin?
My friend has chronic ear ache and apparently he have broken his ear drum! He was prescribed Amoxicillin by his doctor, but told to avoid pain killer, however, he is in so much pain i wondered what the damage would be to take pain killer? I had tooth ache couple of weeks ago and I be prescribed the same anti-biotics and a strong pain slaughterer by my dentist called 'Dihydrocodeine', so I wondered why he has be advised not to take painkillers whilst on the anti-biotics and whether at hand was a pain-killer that he coud take to nouns his discomfort plesae?

I am not aware of any such advice and I've be in the profession for donkeys! Unless there's another reason for this advocate, your friend can take pain killer. Remember NSAIDs eg Ibuprofen,voltarol must be taken with food and to be avoided if he is asthmatic or has a stomach sore. Depending on the degree of perforation, the ear drum can heal completely.I can see no valid drive why any doctor would tell someone in discomfort to avoid painkillers. There are certainly no interactions between the antibiotic amoxicillin and analgesics or NSAIDS like ibuprofen.
