Cartilage Piercing Problem?
I got my cartilage pierced around thanksgiving in my disappeared ear. it hurt for about a month which is normal and since later it was perfectly fine. in the future last week the back of my ear get a little ball on it and when i folded my ear forward to look at it contained by the mirror white puss started coming out. I've made sure to not touch it but like it isn't tender or anything and the ball have gone down since then. i had to nick it out 2 days ago for a basketball game and got it spinal column in. now when i verbs it little pieces of scab come out and a very trace amount of a thick blood colored discharge. What is going on?
Answer: you hold an infection, and possibly a keloid. (too lazy to look up proper spelling).
a keloid can occur from numerous things, one of them one a small piece of the cartilage being broken off (when using a gun to pierce cartilage this is VERY predictable to happen) and in turn 'floating around' causing a bind in the piercing. it turns into a hard orb eventually.
i would go to the doctor about it if it doesn't stop hurting within the next week or so, but in the meantime use dial soap to dry-clean the piercing thoroughly and then use bactine and a q tip to ensure you get ALL possible crusties away from the piercing, after dry thoroughly. and DON'T touch it repeatedly, or with unwashed hands. you probably already know this stuff but i'm only just stating the obvious.. anyways. good luck!
Um that happen to me 2x! but wanted the piercing so bad that i couldn't possibly permit it close. So i got a wash cloth and made it raining with very hot dampen not to hot but hot and put it one the bump every day and i also cleaned it with dial soap and the bump eventually go down and now it's gone and i still have the piercing today.
I have that too - it took much longer for my cartilage piercings to heal than my other ones - even though they feel fine, you can still receive infections etc, for up to 6 months. You just have blotch tissue that builds up when you take out the earring - it's still trying to heal the hole. I own one that's almost a year old and the same article happens. Sounds weird, I know. It depends on how sensitive you are. I would suggest that you use Hydrogen Peroxide every so commonly when you are putting in or taking out an earring. It's just angelic to keep the area verbs until it's 100% healed. IMPORTANT - if your ear gets red and / or starts to discern sensitive, you should go to a Doctor immediately - it could be infected and the infection can spread.
