Daily leg pains? is this something to see my doctor in the order of?
Almost everyday, about 8th p. on my way to class, my leg (the calf area, a bit on the side) starts to ache really bad, like i'm gonna collapse if i don't sit down. (it usually take me a minute, or not even to get to class)
this started suddenly, and has been going on for a few weeks.
The spasm stops almost the second I sit down..
(note- i am double jointed (
Answers: If your calf is cramping gently flex your foot towards you and release your foot again and again (don't point your toe) while massaging the area until it subsides. There are a few reason for muscles cramping. The first is a potassium deficiency. You can increase your intake of foods like bananas, oranges (orange juice) and yogurt, all correct sources of potassium. Another reason is that you are not hydrated enough. If you exercise, a good sports drink, resembling Gatorade, will help keep your electrolytes in symmetry, and may prevent cramping. Also, make sure you drink water before, during and after exercising. Drink it cold, it'll take to your muscles faster. Another thing you might want to try is to take a calcium supplement (one with vitamin D for absorption) or a short time ago a multivitamin that contains Vitamin D and Calcium. Hope that helps you and your cramping stops soon! Take Care of yourself.
