Gatorade so she dont dehydrate!!(most important stay steady you upset the baby puts her in more stress) if cant grasp a dr on the phone soon take to the emergency room better to be safe after sorry! as far as not wanting to play she dont feel good thats average but PLEASE call your dr!

Hi! Firstly call the doctor, and while waiting for them, cool her bad by removing her clothes and sponging her frequently with tepid (not cold) wet. If she's still very hot after this, put her in a tub of tepid water and sponge down.

Stick to the advise dosage of the medicine. I don't know about where on earth you are, but in the UK we usually use a liquid paracetamol suspension to bring down a baby's heat. I wouldn't mix any meds, though, but wait for the doctor to advise.

If you are not sunny to wait, take the babe-in-arms to a hospital - go by your own instinct. I don't have any medical culture as such, but I have two older kids, and I own learned to trust my insticts as to their health. Hope this is obliging.

Motrin tends to work much better than Tylenol for the contraction of fever and you don't have to grant it as often. Motrin dosing is 10 mg/kg (dosing schedule we use within the ER). Hopefully you have some at home with a recommended dosage from your pediatrician. You could telephone your pediatrician (after hours many have a telephone service...and hopefully someone will get back next to you with an exact dosage based on your child's weight). Remember, when we don't be aware of well we typically don't want to do much either. Things to do: Make sure she is staying hydrated, stimulate her to drink...don't give straight Gatorade to little kids...dilute it half strength...it taste a lot better than pedialyte as well. The concentrated electrolytes can be complicated on the kidneys. Gatorade rain has closely less sugar and sodium. Look at how many showery diapers she is making. If a parent told me their child only made three wet diapers within 24 hours and wasn't drinking I'd say get the kiddo to the ER right away. Has she be tugging on her ears? Don't bundle her up with clothing...a diaper and light t-shirt will suffice. Keep a close eye on her and don't be afraid to err on the side of tell and take her to be seen if you mull over she may be worsening!

i don't know if they still use rubbing alcohol to bring down a fever. my son is all grown up in a minute, but i remember the doctor saying when there is restlessness to rub - this brings the fever to the surface. he said its not the alcohol that does it (that just might label it easier to do)
