Did i break or bruise my knuckle?
last night i be messing around with my brother and i punch him as hard as i could at his bone right below the knees cap, i felt a touch crack,i quickly pulled away then looked at my foot and noticed a wider gap inbetween my pointer knuckle and my middle and compared to my moved out hand the knuckle curves closer to the index knuckle. i feel a small indent subsequent to the knuckle that isnt on the left hand and the knuckle isnt as round as the disappeared, its swollen and red, i can eat and move it and make somewhat of a fist but it hurts, my brother say if it was broken i'd be in alot more stomach-ache, can someone help me out
Answer: sounds either broken or dislocated. It unambiguously sounds like more than a bruise. it is a common misconception that you can't move your appendage at all and that you hav to be in an extreme amount of anguish for it to be broken. you should definitely get it x-rayed soon. within the meantime, ice it and keep it elevated.
p.s. to the posters above me...a fracture and breaking a bone are the EXACT same entry. people say adjectives the time..."it's prolly not broken, just fractured" no!...same thing
Can you move your paw to make a fist with out it hurting. Pinch your finger tips and if it hurts within you knuckle, then it is probably broken. If your mom doesn't know about it consequently you are screwed. But if she knows then ask to progress to the hospitle and check if it is broken or not.

More than likely its bruised. But the separation might be a cause for concern. While I'm not a Dr you may own some cartilage that may be torn. I would look for discoloration. Normally, the area will turn black or dark purple. If you are really bothered by it, walk to a Sports Medicine Dr. They are more accustomed to tendons and cartilage injuries than most. Good Luck!i bet its not broken but you fractured ur hand in between your nuckle and sprained your finger thats why its a wide open nuckle i did that once and it sounds like urs but i punced through dry wall and hit a stud
Can you post a picture because that will help. But its any broken or dislocated , either way walk see a doctor .Your brother is wrong btw because there are times that broken bones dont hurt a lot.
Probably dislocated. No biggie, stir to a doc and he'll yank on it for a second and it should pop back into place.

SEE A DOCTOR! You may have chipped your knuckle. You cant 'sprain' a knuckle!if you punched hard satisfactory to break a knuckle then your brother would have probably broken that bone
