Do I enjoy a stress fracture within my fooT?
3 days ago I fell of my skateboard and banged the side of my foot. emediateley after I fell I got up and I could skate. within the past three days I have have no pain at all walking or skating. the article that is bothering me is that when I push the outside of my heel(the outside of the calcaneus bone) I feel a dull affliction that I kinda localized. is this just a bone bruise or could it be a fracture?
also I have no swelling or bruising and the twinge has stayed pretty much the same even though I hold skated twice since the accident( the pain has not get any worse). please help me !
Answer: it isn't fractured... you would feel a sharp discomfort a lot more than you are now and it would swell... it also wouldn't help yourself to a few days for the pain to start
oh... and an amazing website for these kinds of question is www.webmd.com use their symptom checker and you can select exactly what is wrong and they will give you a list of possible explinations..
It could be a fracture, and the calcaneous bone have one of the longest healing times of any bone. A lot of people will parkland after falling or something and be thankful not to have hurt anything single to realize a few days later that they broke their heel. With the pain mortal localized I would get it checked out, even if there isn't closely of bruising or swelling since that's also semi common in calcaneous fractures. Better to be locked than sorry. Good luck.
